If covid became more deadly?

If Covid mutated and became more deadly, would you carry on working in the frontline or find a way out. I was thinking about this the other day. I only didn’t quit this time as I decided the risk to me and my family of catching it and dying was small. Nobody should be forced to put there life before others. Totally theoretical of course.

No I wouldn't quit. I put patients on ecmo so I'm really front line, however I would have no qualms about asking for the hood and air pack instead of mask. Im struggling to get a decent deal atm might need to do fit testing again!

Would there be enough hoods available though? I’ve been fit tested for an N95 mask but have never worn one. Our hospital has a tendency to put covid patients in every ward, when there were many patients with covid in the hospital. We were given only basic PPE

@stairway I can only speak for my job, and they are ordering everyone a hood as it is a lot more pleasant. We wear full ppe for every single case in theatre as they're aerosol generating procedures so 8 hours minimum we wear full length gown, gloves, visor, and a respirator mask it's hard!

Ifone I really could not wear all that for that long. I do feel for you.
