Hi! I am a PAM in a very small specialty working very closely with patients. I have been told to shield ( don’t want to go into detail), and have been doing patient consults from home etc. I am agonising over going back to work because I am under pressure to do so from one of the trusts I work for and I feel I letting the patients down- and other staff down.
I don’t know who to discuss this with! I don’t technically have a line manger ( I am it) I rang my GP early on who put me on the shielding list ( that was not what I wanted).
Is there a HCP line I could talk to? The association/ union I belong to is not taking calls . I don’t want to say too much on here.

I think you should try again with your union/representative body, maybe email them if they are not taking calls. Also check the guidance and FAQs on their website.

I am furloughed from a customer facing non essential role in a healthcare related profession. My union/representative body has given out lots of guidance regarding employment law which states that a shielding person cannot be forced back to work early, this can be viewed as discriminatory.

I'm sorry I don't know if there is a HCP helpline.

Thank you bitmynail. Curiously I did at last hear back from my professional body today! I feel more able to hold my ground.
