I'm a mental health social worker, currently working in a CMHT. I'm looking to take a year or two out of practice and go travelling. I'd like to spend at least some of the time using my professional skills abroad, either through volunteering placements or work. I've been having a look online at various options but just wondered if anyone in a core profession had any personal experiences that they'd recommend?
I don't have enough years' experience to be eligible for MHPSS/VSO roles, sadly. However, by the time I go, I will also hopefully be qualified as an EMDR therapist.
