Trying to find a rental

Hi

I'm in the process of planning to move out. For many reasons, I haven't told my husband yet.

I'm struggling to even get viewings and starting to feel down and trapped. My earnings are fine, I'm in a full time permanent job. I have one teen daughter.

Anything I can do to help secure a rental home? Any advice? I've never had to do this before. I've had a mortgage for 20 years

Two things may help. See if you can rent an apartment (instead of a house) and indicate it’s for a professional working women and your daughter will visit, when u move in just say your plans have changed and your daughter will be living with you full time. Children cause damage to properties and are rough on fixtures and fittings, so landlords dont like renting to families and single parents are even more problematic as they are too busy to keep an eye on their children ! Biased and unfair I know.. but a landlord assesses risk. You are higher risk

I offered to pay 6 months rent upfront and got the first property I applied for so that’s worth a try?
