Solicitors fees - have run out of money

Hi all, has anyone been in this situation of running out of money to pay solicitors fees? The FDR is in March and I need to submit updated financial records as well as answer some questions from his solicitor. I don’t know what to do.
Also, can you tell me if a barrister is needed for the FDR please?

I paid for my solicitor for that part then represented myself which was hard but the judge recognised that I wasn’t legally trained and explained how I had to speak to them etc. I then looked for 1 thing which would I could get my ex on and as he was such a cocky arse he made my job quite easy. But it is intimidating and I get why you are nervous. Try a s see if you can stretch for professionals to do all the financial wranglings if you can.

Thank you. Would I be able to prepare the paperwork for the FDR? I don’t know where I would start.

I would like to try to prepare the paperwork for the hearing myself and try to borrow money to pay for a barrister for the hearing. My solicitor has said the fees for preparation would be about £3000 so I’m guessing there’s a lot of work involved.

Speak to a McKenzie friend who will be able to help, they are lay people who do this for a living but aren’t solicitors. Mine charges £50 per hour & is great. Shes a sounding board and prepares my paperwork.
