Can't afford to leave

Marriage is over, has been for 18 months.
If we split and sell house neither would have enough to buy another home. Both in our 60s so wouldn't get another mortgage. I'm retired due to ill health and have small private pension.
Considering applying for over 55s council accommodation
Just wondering if anyone else been in same position
No family nearby
Just feeling very low this morning

Problem is if you have money from the sale of the house, the council would expect you to use that to house yourself even if it means private rent.

When you say the marriage over what things have lead to that?

im just wondering if there is a world where you can live together for companionship?

can you move closer to your family so you’re moving onto something better for you?

Surely the point in buying a house was so you would both be housed. Just becuase your romantic connection is gone, doesn't that deal still exist?

Can't you just stay put and be housemates?

He can't be asking to sell can he given he also can't afford a new place?

It all depends why it's over... abuse, violence, affair or grown apart?

There has been dv in the past
Our local women's advice centre has a drop in day later this month where housing officer from council and solicitors will be available to offer advice, so I've decided to pop along.
This last few days haven't been easy
Thank you for replies, much appreciated
