Can anyone recommend an alternative to dating apps?

I’ve only tried Hinge and Bumble, but after years of using them, I’m wondering if anyone has tried anything better? In the hope of finding a better quality bloke, as the apps are like wading through the worst of the dating pool.
My mother uses Telegraph dating which seems much better but I feel too young (45) and left wing to use it myself.

Clubs and hobbies, be a regular in new places, expand your circle in general.

Ive joined a few facebook groups. Most of them have meet ups now where you actually meet as a group.
There is also the app "meet up" that do lots and lots of different events local to you.
