Last day of cooling off period!

Today is the last day of the 20 week cooling off period, hopefully tomorrow the notification will come early. It’s gone quick but felt like a long time!

Been feeling very up and down this week. House now on the market but hardly any viewings. Fear I’ll still be living here at Christmas.

Next phase is await date for conditional order then submit consent order. We are using amicable but not sure if they submit the request for consent order online or I have to do it?

Hope everyone is doing ok!

OMG I wish I was in your shoes. I am drowning in misery at this point. Another 4 months to go!

I hope you are ok - I am hoping not to have to sell this place, but to take it on alone. We've agreed between us the finances which allow ex to buy on, so am hoping that by the time we submit the financials he is already in his own place and all the court has to do is order the pension sharing. I know it's risky sorting it before but I think it will be really bad if we live together too much longer.

@Size40Shoes hang in there! Be good to yourself, I understand though it’s flipping miserable at times.

Sadly not able to rent and pay mortgage nor can I afford to buy out so living together til house sold. Finances agreed which provides a healthy deposit but can only afford a small mortgage so looking at super cheap properties. Can’t do any viewing til house is sstc.
No pension sharing so I’m receiving a bigger equity share, however it’s not 50/50, weighted more his way, worried the judge will say no and getting the finances sealed takes longer than selling the house.

its all so up and down, today was ok but tonight it’s all a bit shit.

We've not got a huge amount of equity because we remortgaged to extend a few years ago. I can't borrow more because I'm at maximum lending and he can only borrow a small mortgage because of his salary (could earn more - doesn't want to). We have no joint children and he only has his youngest 2 nights per month, so a flat is fine for him. We are late 40s though and as I also prioritised my pension over the last few years they're unequal so I'm going to lose a big chunk. I keep reminding myself it's a small price to pay for peace.

Overall it's a pure 50/50 split so I'm hoping the judge just seals it when its time.

My friend had a 70/20 split in her favour and explained why in the financial consent and that was sealed last month.

@ICantWaitAnotherMinute (((hugs))) I think we'll both be up and down.

Hi, I’m 10 weeks into the 20 week cooling off period and planning on using amicable for consent order too. Can I ask when you instructed them and how easy their service was to use. I’m looking at the automated service, £900, as we’re in agreement. Thanks in advance x

Hi @MissmyoldLab we contacted Amicable about week 13 of the cooling off period and had a teams consultation just to run through the service and ask questions. Amicable set up a portal and drop you an email when it’s time to add the details, around week 18.

The portal is pretty simple to use, tabs for each section with the first tab details of marriage, divorce application and case number. Then each tab asks about property, income, assets etc.

Applied for the conditional order last week, got a response in minutes and will receive email re order date by 11th September. While we wait, Amicable are now drafting the consent order (we choose the £900 option), should have a copy to review and approve within 4 weeks, then as soon as we have conditional order date Amicable will post the consent order to the court on our behalf.

Fingers crossed if the consent order is approved by end of October then final order could happen in November. Good luck!

Thank you! Honestly the last few days were shocking but today I feel a bit better as I got out the house. I find if I’m inside it’s just so uncomfortable. We both just want move on but house isn’t selling 😭

Ok so far. I also don't want to be home. It's not tense but he's basically on strike, not even cleaned his bedding for 3 weeks and can't see that changing soon.

Oh no! I mentioned to him recently re cleaning bedding when getting ready for a viewing and was told I was being nasty. That is one bonus I can add to my list of “Reasons to be single” no more sweaty sheets!

The house is on the market but only a few viewings and heard nowt from estate agents. Dreamed I’d be in a new place by Christmas but doubt that very much. It’s good in a way because it gives plenty of time for the financial order to be approved and have the final order before any potential completion but dear me living in my bedroom is getting super boring…

I feel that and I'm only 3 weeks in 🤣

@ICantWaitAnotherMinute thanks for your reply about amicable. Really useful. Love and agree with your “reasons to be single”- no more sweaty beds! I’m currently in the box room and love my single bed 😂
