Sorry to be specific but I’m desperate to understand timings to seal a financial consent order. It seemed ok in March then in May some people said took 8weeks+. Just after recent experience at Birmingham court. Thanks

Mine was 33 days from there but it was straight forward. Fingers crossed you don't have to wait long, I know how frustrating it all is, especially when nearing the end x

Thank you. Four weeks better than eight weeks 😭

Thanks! Except I've just been told it's actually Luton. Solicitor just said 2-10 weeks.

Just an update - I'm done!! Except now dealing with the fallout as ex isn't happy with the deal and changing his mind...

My timings in the end were:

  • 7.7.25 Financial consent order and D81 uploaded to court
  • 11.7.25 Assigned to judge
  • 5.8.25 FCO sealed by court (4wk 2 days total)

No questions asked and all done.

So pleased for you, it's a huge relief isn't it and as for the Ex...well it's tough the judge deemed it fair so that's that. Onwards and upwards for you from now on x

Can I ask how you heard? Was it by post or email? I sent mine off two weeks ago and am desperate for news! And how did you hear it has been assigned to a judge?

AlwaysThinkingForwards · 10/09/2025 16:03

I know the feeling! I did it via a solicitor who lodged it so they got an email saying it had been processed and assigned to a judge and then after it was signed off. Not sure if you do it directly what comms you gets. good luck.

An update for you all -

I got my conditional order and sent off my consent order documents end of August, two weeks ago. Just called the court for an update and they said they are usually in touch (by both letter and post) after 3-5 weeks to confirm that it's been assigned to a judge.

From there, the judge might take up to ten weeks to seal the order....!!!

Absolutely no way I'll be able to file for my final order on 10 October.... Absolutely gutted tbh,

ICantWaitAnotherMinute · 12/09/2025 10:43

@cruciferousdoodle is that with Birmingham? My consent order went in last week, I can apply for final order 10th October too and I was really hoping to get it done and dusted!

Birmingham pronounced my conditional order on 28 Aug but I don't know where the judge is for the financial stuff. I called the court before I submitted and they told me to just put "CTSC" at the top instead of a particular court.

In a VERY weird twist, about an hour after I posted here I had an email from the courts requesting payment. I called to pay and they told me I've been assigned a judge! How crazy, what a weird coincidence. I could still take up to 10 weeks for the judge to seal it, but it also might not. Keep everything crossed now!!

ICantWaitAnotherMinute · 12/09/2025 15:28

@cruciferousdoodle That is great news, forward movement is good, maybe you manifested it! It's the waiting I can't stand, crossing my fingers we both hear positive news in the next few weeks.

Birmingham pronounced my conditional order too, at noon apparently. Our consent order was drafted by Amicable and on the front of application they had a document with their account details with the court for the fee to be taken from, so I won't receive a call for payment as this is included in the fees charged to us by Amicable. They did say if the judge asked questions we would have to pay for the enhanced service so praying it all goes through without query (nail biting stuff!).

When I called up I was also given the standard timings - but reality was much quicker. Crossing fingers for you.

Coming back to update (far too late) on this. The judge sealed the consent order 28 Sept! I was then able to file for the final order 10 October. Keep going ladies, it will all come together for you - you've got this.
