Solicitor recommendations - finances and custody

Hi all, is anyone able to kindly recommend a solicitor you have used for finance and custody matters? I’m assuming they don’t need to be local these days?

Sometimes it's worth looking for localish as some things will need to be hand signed etc and it's easier if you can drop things in without waiting for post etc. I've moved since I initially started with my solicitor and tbh it's a pita having to do everything by post whereas before I could have dropped what I needed in much quicker and know it got there safely. Roughly whereabouts are you?

Why don't you search local Facebook groups for the word solicitor

You will probably see the same names come up with personal recommendations, again and again, for all kinds of legal work, not just family law.

That's what I did and picked one that mentioned family law prominently in their social media and website and it's working out well so far.

I would be reluctant to do it all remotely as I had a face to face consultation that really moved things on significantly for me in terms of my understanding and getting advice.

Gavin Edmondson offers a free consultations and he is one of the few solicitors that actually represents you in court. He has really good reviews. :)
