Recently separated from my partner of 10 years. I stupidly put my life in his hands. Gave up my job, moved away basically lived my life around him.
I have now moved out and have no idea what to do or where to start. I have to children 17 and 18 so they pretty much have their own lives now so I’m pretty much on my own. I’d like to go back to work but would like to do something new and exciting.
I don’t know what to do with my days and don’t really have friends anymore.
Help….. where do I even start to build a new life?

Reach out locally for others in your situation, there must be other ladies in your position who might like to meet up for coffee or a meal. 🙂

So, you want to do something new and exiting! Any ideas for that? What's yiur dream job? And how do you get there?

It can be tough, but dust yourself off and get out and enjoy your new life!
Good luck :)

I would love to work with animals or maybe cabin crew. Just feel I’m too old to be starting anything now x

You're never too old to start again or dream a new dream and make it a reality! I have broke up 5.5 years and starting a fresh in a lot of ways. You WILL be OK... thriving. It'll take time but focus on friendship and you. Wellbeing, focus on that. What do you do for your own wellbeing?

Same boat. except my kids have fled the nest. Too many hours in the day :( Am trying to find something to do each day. Booked a yoga class for tomorrow. Just anything that will get me out and about. x

Good for you, I’ve joined the gym and spa but I get a bit bored going on my own. Need a gym buddy even if it’s just to sit in the spa and have a chat lol x

Volunteering is a great idea, you could also use the National Careers service to help work out what you want to do.

i also found I needed to make new friends who not knew the single me - I joined a choir as this was something I had always wanted to do.
