Moving out of Manchester 🇬🇧

Hi mums. I currently live in Manchester and I am planning on moving somewhere more rural with my 3 year old. It will just be my child and I so I am looking for a safe, friendly area.
Ideally I would like to move to the Lancashire area, I have looked at the villages around Broughton, Barton, Woodplumpton which look nice but I don’t know enough about them. I am equally happy to move elsewhere as I work from home probably 1 hour drive max from Manchester.
please can anyone suggest a nice village I can consider? My reasonings for moving are simply I would like somewhere more rural and green ☺️

If you are looking North of Preston there are lots of lovely safe places. Eg Longridge, Grimsargh, Goosnargh, Garstang. However do take into account that the A6 north of Broughton bypass can be a nightmare especially if there is a problem on the motorway. There are always roadworks at some point on the Preston-Lancaster section. My favourite would be Longridge.

Have a look at Longton, New Longton, Hutton, Hoole, Bretherton, Croston for villages south of the Ribble.
Penwortham is nice if you want more life, not far to Preston train station, and nice walks in Hurst Grange Park and along the river.

I would focus on moving somewhere where your Dcs father has decent access to him, near family if applicable and near good transport / school links.
whats your budget?

Thank you for the recommendations! I will look at the areas mentioned I am liking the look of Longridge.
my budget is 275k
my child’s father is supportive of the move as we both don’t want to raise our child in Manchester anymore as day by day there are lots of stabbings and a lot of crime and it just doesn’t feel safe anymore.
His job is also remote and will happily move to the same area so we can continue co parenting :)
