Hello everyone, my ex and I have been separated for about 3 years, and we really need to sort the paperwork and get divorced. It's all pretty amicable and simple and we want to do it as cheaply as possible, but the more I Google the more confused I am! So many forms and steps and numbered documents, I've managed to make myself totally overwhelmed and certain I'll miss something important. Is the best option to find a solicitor to do all this for me and eat the costs or is there a really simple step by step guide to follow somewhere online that people have used and can vouch for?

I think some friends may also be able to help you . I personally am using a divorce lawyer but it is jolly expensive !

We did it very very simply and ourselves. Filled in the paperwork you can download from .gov website and paid fee. Sent them off. Sent next lot of forms off. Job done. Took a year to finalise.
