Should I leave my husband

So here goes, I've been with my husband for over 30 years and I am thinking of leaving him or a temporary separation. I am not happy any more, we live in separate bedrooms and haven't made love in years, I can't talk to him as he is very hard to speak to and share my feelings. I'm just so confused, so many things have happened over the years that I have just shut myself off from him, has anyone else felt like this? I am quite an anxious person so please be kind 😀

The reason we have a DH/partner is because they improve our lives. Why bother otherwise? This one makes yours worse. The relationship has hit the buffers. If you've been married 30 years you must be 60-ish? So can you carry on like this for another 20 years? Can you? 🤔

@FunnyLemonCrab sorry to hear you're struggling. Maybe time apart would help you gain some clarity. Can you move in with a family member or a friend?

I'd usually not hesitate to say yes - I don't know any women who don't do better after divorce!

Might depend on age and circumstance for me though. Are you 55 or 80? Would staying married make legal sense for both of you - joint assets and homes, pensions, make it easier with wills and children... Could you live separately and stay married? Do you just need space? Can you afford to move out and do a trial separation? Talk to your DH - I know you said he isn't great to speak to but he might feel similarly.

I wouldn't leave in the hope of meeting someone else either - I would only leave if I would be genuinely happier alone. You might meet someone else of course but don't bank on it.
