Asking for a friend and excuse the terminology I’m not at all tech minded.

Friends husband talking about divorce.
Things are now bitter with no comms at present.

Still living in same house while he decides an offer for her to agree to 26 week online divorce.

But he is playing mind games and keeping her waiting.

However he said some things which could only have come from reading her/my text W/A messages.
She realised(to late) that he had somehow (remember I’m tech phob) done something to her phone so he could see texts/W/A on his iPad, also connected his iPad to her phone.
Added his pic to her phone to gain access and put an air tag in her car.
she’s not looked for air tag as she’s nothing to hide.

But she removed all of the above off her phone and changed passwords, is there a way of proving that he had done that? as in is there a log or something.

in my limited experience I would call this coercive control? Thoughts

I doubt she can prove it but she should go to an Apple Store and tell them she thinks her tech has been hacked and ask for help to make sure there’s nothing else on there.

Only way he can read her WhatsApp is if he's logged into his iPad or laptop to her account. Your friend can check by going into WhatsApp -> Settings -> Linked Devices. There it will show the device and the browser (so for an Apple computer it will say 'Safari (macOS)' most likely. If she taps into that it will show when it was last active and at what location. Tell her to log everything out. But take a screenshot for evidence (if needed later)

Also tell her to go into her phone Settings and then to tap her name at the top. If she scrolls down it will show all the devices (laptops, iPads, phones, etc.) linked to her Apple ID. Check these with a fine tooth comb and delete anything that's not actually hers.

And trust me when I say this. LOOK FOR THE DAMN AIRTAG. Find it and her phone will ask her if she would like to return it to the owner. This will most likely give his details. Instructions: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/found-lost-airtag/ Take a picture of what comes up.

Obviously give her all this information over the phone or in person. And do it ASAP.
