I'm in the process of selling a property in Arizona that I've had for 20 years. bought it shortly after my divorce (well, I bought a piece of land for $13k and then did bits and pieces to it over the next 2 decades).

anyway, I now have a buyer but to get what is called an ITIN (some tax number for international sellers) I need certain documents. one of the documents I need is my decree nisi (or absolute, it's not really clear).

my question is this: is there a way I can download any of those documents instead of having them sent out in the post to the UK and then someone in the UK having to send them on to me. I close on the sale on 4th April, so really soon.. yikes!! cheers in advance for any thoughts or advice!!

oh btw,.. I didn't know I was gonna be selling when I came here this winter but then things went quite strange in the neighbourhood and I was pretty much forced to sell, which is fine. I was ready for having to sell one day. I just didn't realise when I left the UK that it would be this year.

I had to apply to the court for my absolute. I emailed the court and about 5 days later they rang me for the payment, then the absolute arrived in the post the next day so its going to take a week just in the UK never mind getting it posted to America, but if your deadline is the 4th April i guess it is doable.
