ex is acting strange and i’m worried

ex and i split a couple of months ago and he moved back to his parents, took all his stuff with him. it’s been okay between us, had our moments but getting along okay. he has issues with alcohol abuse and smoking weed and after finding he had been messaging prostitutes i decided enough was enough

he can be very narcissistic and makes me feel like i’m out of order in a lot of situations

in the past few weeks he’s gone through my ipad and all my messages and picked fault at things i’d said etc etc

so yesterday he asked if i was at work today and i said yeah, thought nothing of it. then he asked again this morning and again i thought nothing of it. but when i came home the house felt off, stuff looked like it had been moved and randomly stuff had gone missing out the fridge. i asked him if he’d been here and he said yes…to which i said ‘okay were you looking for something? he bluntly just replied nope. so i said ‘did you need something?’ and again he just replied nope. is this strange behavior? he said he couldn’t come and see the children today but managed to make it here on his lunch to snoop?

for context, he has no stuff here. he has a key still as technically it’s still ‘our’ house until it sells but i feel uneasy about him coming round.

Change the locks. Yes I know you can't. But you can.

Really difficult for you, sounds like a similar situation to the one my DD1 was in until last Autumn. Fortunately she moved to be near to me but is still waiting for house to be sold. Are you worried? Perhaps he is just trying to remind you it's his house too, so difficult. Does he have keys for front and back door?
My DD1 used to leave a key in the front door , put a chain on and use the patio doors to leave the house as he didn't have key for that. Also removed all personal documents including passports and stashed them in the car. Feel for you.Flowers

@Eyerollexpert he has keys for both i think, im going to do exactly as you’ve just said. it’s a shame i feel like this but i feel very insecure here now. it’s rather odd behaviour! thank you xx

Put a deadbolt on the front door.

You could also consider getting a ring doorbell or internal camera.
