What are my options if ex won't engage in the process?

I started the divorce process at the end of 2023, and progress has been sooo slow. I eventually got a Form E out of him 6 months (and many emails) into the process, although it was slap dash and full of inaccuracies. Since then we've got basically nowhere. Emails from my solicitor are ignored; dates are set and then pushed back by his solicitor; more emails are ignored. We're 18 months down the line and have got basically nowhere.

Is my only option to start court proceedings? It seems so ridiculous when it isn't that complicated a divorce, and the thought of it fills me with dread, but I'm just not sure what else I can do...?

Is there any other way I can get him to engage in the process?!

Nope. No secret magic word we can give you to make him engage. Proceed via the court.

Looks like you are going to have to start court proceedings. Why are you filled with dread? It's just a legal process to go through.

Is he deliberately stalling, do you think, or is his head in the sand & he doesn't want to divorce?
