I filed for divorce on DivorceCanBeSimple.com, but I need to relocate for work. Can I move to another state with my child before the divorce is finalized?

We dont have states in the UK. Are you in America? Probably not the right forum to advise you.

Are you in the UK? You mention another ‘state’ which suggests not.

This is a UK based forum so very few people will have experience of what you’re looking for.
However, I really want to open a reality-focused website called DivorceCanBeSimpleButMostOfTheTimeItsAPainInTheButt.com

The Op is in the US I'm pretty sure given the use of "out of state" and the upper case first letters in her title.

Good luck OP. Hopefully there is a US equivalent of Mumsnet/wikivorce!

Generally speaking whether it is a state or a country you are not allowed to relocate a child without both parents permission or a court order. The degree to which this is treated as a crime, kidnapping, varies. But most other countries and states cooperate with authorities to return children who have been unlawfully or illegally relocated without proper legal or parental consent.
