Does anybody have an agreement that you'll remain in the family home with your children. How old will the children be when you come to sell it? A lawyer advised me to press for age 21 but someone else told me 18. What is usual in this scenario?

Also is child support paid until 18?

The unusual outcome is that you're allowed to stay in the house. Usually courts will order the sale and split of the assets if it can't be agreed between you.

These days it is pretty rare but have never heard past 18

Highly doubt you'll get to remain in the family home till dc are 21 or even 18.
Can you buy them out?

Well OP as others have said staying in the house is rare these days. Your partner also has to be able to house themselves and put so you would only be able to stay if you can buy them out.

If you were awarded a mesher it would usually be till 18

and Meshers are rare and generally only used in cases where

ex Agrees
one party is very high earner
its short term to avoid disruption to a child doing GCSE’s or similar
literally the only option
