mortgage / Universal Credit advice

I need to apply for a small mortgage but can only get one approved if I have 3 months worth of bank statements to prove that I receive Universal Credit. Im still living with husband, we are sorting out our finances which is coming close to the end and I will need UC to top up my salary (I work every day) I cant move out until I have found a house and a mortgage in place, yet I cant claim UC until I am living alone with just me paying the bills. Is this correct? how do I get around this catch 22 situation ?
Thanks

You can claim Universal Credit as a single person or single parent while living in the same property as your ex-partner but you may need to provide additional information to convince the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) , that you and your ex-partner are no longer a couple. CPAG have some useful information at Separated but living in the same property | CPAG

Separated but living in the same property

An explanation of means-tested benefit rules which may be relevant to people who have ended their relationship with an abusive partner but who continue living in the same home as them.
