Thinking today about dc and the upheaval during divorce - selling the family home and buying two smaller properties.
It is possible that stbxh could buy me out and keep the family home. He is fairly settled here where as I would prefer a fresh start and don't want to stay. 2 dc - 12 and 9 year old. I was thinking how it might be better for them if he bought me out and then there wouldn't be the upheaval of 2 new homes and the familiarity of their old things - bedrooms etc.
However stbxh is controlling and manipulative. He has already tried to blame me and make me out to be the bad one in front of the dc (weaponising them and so on). He would surely jump at the chance of telling them that mum left the home and abandoned them rather than things weren't working and we went our own ways. Under different circumstances this might of been a good idea but am I right in thinking this won't end well and that we need to start again on a more equal footing.
Anyone been in a similar situation?
