Hi
Does anyone have any updated experience of how long the consent order took to be approved? I posted mine, not sure if this impacts the speed.

Thank you

Sent mine end of november (29th) also post. Had a letter back dated 8th December. A friend posted november 30th and got a replied dated December 3rd!

Papill19 · 30/01/2025 06:33

Wow, that’s so quick! Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. So when you say letter back, is that the only way to receive it? In the post again? They don’t email you? And how long did it take for the letter to come through? I know you said it was dated 8th December, is that when you got it or was it a few days/week after? Thanks so much

If you send by post you get it back in post. Took a week after the date to get it but post on my road is notoriously rubbish!

Papill19 · 30/01/2025 07:56

Oh okay, I did not know that, thank you! Did you have any other communication from? I was expecting to hear when they recieved it etc. I sent it last Friday and have tracked it so know it has arrived.

I don’t know, but watching with interest as mine is being sent this week.
I seem to have done nothing but wait for time to pass for the last six months (filed application in August).

Papill19 · 30/01/2025 09:23

Feel you completely - process started in June for us and delayed at every possible stage by my ex! Feels like the final hurdle and just cannot wait. Are you posting yours?

I know @Papill19 , I can’t wait for it to be over either. My solicitor did the consent order because the financials were complicated; I assumed she’d be submitting it electronically but she could be sending by post.

Papill19 · 05/02/2025 07:22

At the weekend I came home to a letter saying it has been referred to the judge and on Monday I had the cheque cashed. Really hoping that means it’s going to be approved soon. Does anyone remember the timeline between cheque cashed and order approved?

Any updates? Mine was paid for, issued and referred to judge on the 11th Feb.

Papill19 · 22/02/2025 13:04

Still waiting!!

Still waiting!!

Any updates? I got a response from the judge that mine needed rewording. He wrote that on 14th Feb, so had looked at it just a couple of days after it was issued. Took until the 26th to get it back through the post though. Have reworded and sent back via email, so we’ll see how long that takes.

Papill19 · 04/03/2025 09:59

Still waiting - not heard a thing! I am hoping that means there are no questions but I have no idea!! It's been 5 weeks since it was received by the courts. That's concerning your questions took so long to come back through the post though!! Was waiting on this to complete on my house but my estate agent has now said we can complete if we both sign a letter to say we confirm split, so less worried about getting it back urgently. What was the rewording issue for you?

I was hoping that waiting this long would mean there were no questions, but just heard there was one. Have you had a response after submitting your rewording on email @Snappytyper ? Not sure how long that part takes.

I’ve just heard from my solicitor that court delays mean that it’s at least a five to six week wait to hear back from court re consent order. Infuriating. It might be area dependent, though. I’m south east.

JosieJo777 · 18/03/2025 11:48

Hi All, I’m in Essex and applied for my consent order on 28/02/25. Just heard from my solicitor today that it was agreed on 17/03/25, so 2 and 1/2 weeks for me.

MatterhornMartini · 18/03/2025 17:51

Could you mind saying which court you went through please @JosieJo777? I’ve been waiting since 05/02/25.

JosieJo777 · 18/03/2025 19:58

Hi @MatterhornMartini I’ve just checked the paperwork and it just says “order made by District Judge Rodgers (sitting in retirement) on 17th March sitting in private” so who knows! 😂
My ex husband got a notice from courts in Harlow, so could have been there.
We had actually already got a Separation Agreement in place and already divided everything, so this formed the basis of the consent order, so not sure if this is what sped things up. We have also been very amicable, so nothing was contested at any point. Are you in Essex?

MatterhornMartini · 19/03/2025 20:59

Thank you @JosieJo777 . I’m in London. My paperwork (to date) has the court in Birmingham named. I’ve been waiting since 5th March. I guess that’s not that long but it’s the second go.

StellaOlivetti · 28/03/2025 18:47

I applied for my consent order on the 12 th and it was approved today. So 16 days. 🎉

Itisallgoingtobeok · 30/03/2025 10:25

Mine is Birmingham too and have been waiting 2 weeks so far. Going for a quick approval but ExH has clearly lied and cheated on the forms so suspect there will be questions. I just want this done now.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 09/04/2025 12:37

Any updates? I’m still waiting. Hopefully some of you have had positive news!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 27/04/2025 15:36

Has anyone using Birmingham had any progress? I am still waiting 7 weeks on, and it hasn't even got to a judge yet.

Myspare · 09/05/2025 10:27

Just wondering if anyone has had their consent order come through mine was sent to Birmingham on 1st May and solicitor advised 6-8 week turnaround time but I’m hoping it will be quicker!

Itisallgoingtobeok · 09/05/2025 11:10

Mine took 9 weeks to get to a judge and is now waiting for a response. Mine is in Birmingham too. My solicitor says it could be another month before we get a response from the judge.

Myspare · 09/05/2025 15:05

Oh wow looks like I’m in for a long wait then 😬
