Husband wants to buy my share of house

I've filled out financial consent a date is set in the next few weeks for a hearing. My husband want to buy my share of the property. He's offering 70%. I'm not sure how the financials work but if a judge accepts the financials does this mean he can buy me out at this point or do I have to wait until I'm officially divorced.

He's offering me 70% of the marital home it's in the post. He wants to buy my share of the home. He's offering me 70%.

I don't understand - if he's offering to buy it, doesn't it mean he wants 100%? 70% of what it's worth?!

No we both own the house. We are divorcing. He's is offering me a financial settlement of 70% share of the jointly owned home as part of divorce settlement. The consent order is going before a judge. I do not want to live there i do not want to buy him out.

So he’s offering 70% of the equity ?

what about other assets? Pensions? Investments?

do you have children?

the consent order is done after nisi but before final divorce order and takes effect from the absolute

Edited

I'm asking about if he offers to buy my share. Can it be done when judge approves the order or do I have to wait until divorce. Assets pension have been put into the order also. He won't be penniless.

I never said he’d be penniless. Im
simply saying is it as fair agreement for both rather than looking just at house

and as said, the house buy out will get tied up in the consent order which is ratified at point of decree absolute

There are other aspects we both have agreed on. However I am looking at the house aspect as I don't want to live here and it was up for sale prior to divorce. So what you are saying is until we are fully divorced he cannot buy my share of the property.

Are you saying he's offering you 70% of the value of the house to buy your 50% off you?
In which case that sounds like a good deal, and one which might allow you to buy yourself somewhere else.

millymollymoomoo · 13/01/2025 17:23

Well in theory he can buy you out now
but until you’re divorced and consent order is sealed, either one of you could go back on prior agreement
so eg you could find new house, make offer, get to exchange then he changes his mind on the split % and refuses to sign papers etc

That's what I was worrying about. I want to move away from him and was hoping that i could do it after consent order was passed .
