Sole Authority House Sale

How does it work asking the court for sole authority to sell a property?
Is it just written in a court order, then I can present the order to an estate agent and conveyance solicitor, and that's enough for them to not need my ex's signatures on contracts and my ex's agreement for agreeing a sale price?
Does it have to go back to a judge once a sale price is agreed?
Can this order be given from the family court?
I'm going through court for a non molestation order, and was hoping it could be tagged on to that, but I'm worried that if I have to keep coming back to the judge for signatures later on down the line, it may delay the sale.
We are not married.
