D81/ Consent order and timings- when do I move out?

Finally, after 2 years, the STBXH and I have agreed upon a divorce settlement. My solicitor is drafting my D81 form and we have a consent order ready for the court.

Question is....when do I move out? STBXH is retaining the family home and I go.

I know-

  • Once the equity from the house has been transferred to me, I have no right to be here and no "grace" period from the STBXH
  • Once the court order has been granted, I have a maximum of 3 months to vacate (which forces me in to rental really unless I find somewhere with no chain).

When do I go?
Rentals require deposits, and I don't want to have to pay rent and be expected to pay the mortgage here... but presumably if we have reached an agreement already I could just go tomorrow?

I am worried that I wait for the court order to be signed off (I have no idea how long this is likely to take- does anybody know?) and then will be looking for rentals over the Christmas period, which is likely to be a quiet time for them. Help!
