Time to apply for final order. Do we need to do consent order first?

It's time to now apply for the final order of our divorce. We've amicably agree how to split our finances. Do we have to apply for a consent order before the final order? If so, what does that entail? Do we have to list all of our assets etc or just say that we've amicably agreed how to split everything?

Thanks

In theory yes but i didn't, haven't got round to doing that yet as everything is already split

It's better if you can do the consent order before the final order, but it's not 100% necessary. Personally, I am waiting for the consent order first (everything was split including house earlier this year 50/50) because I don't trust my ex one bit.

You will need a solicitor to draft the consent order because, once approved, it's a legal document. But you could prepare your own DB81 form to speed things up / reduce costs - that lists out your financial positions before / after the order.
