Selling house before court order

Hi,

Had to go to court to settle finances and we managed to reach an agreement after the 1st court hearing. We had to make slight wording changes to the consent order and it was sent back to the judge the same day.

It has now been 8 weeks and we still haven’t had the approved consent order back from the judge.

We want to complete on the sale of the family home asap but is it ok to do this before having the signed consent order? Are there any risks of doing this? We now agree on how equity should be split (as per consent order). The house is sold.

Thanks!

Technically until it’s sealed it could be changed. So there’s a risk with that.

have you chased up where it is?

personally I would proceed but others will say wait….. if you’ve literally had it written and both agree it’s just now timing I would carry on with the sale personally

I’ve chased about 10 times but just get told it’s with the judge. He only works part-time and has been off sick.
