How long to secure a rented property?

Hi just me being impatient really and Google isn't providing anything helpful

Out of curiosity has anyone been in the same situation?

Me and husband have split, he is moving into rented accommodation. He is viewing it on Monday 29th July and is pretty certain he will take it. It's available to move into now.

How long will it roughly be before he gets the keys and can move in? Like what checks are in place and what needs to be done before he can get the keys from an agent's POV?

Any help is great as it's driving me crazy living with him 🤣

There's quite a lot of paper work and credit checks, forms going back and forth. I think it took about 2 weeks for me from sending in the application, being approved, credit checks, to getting the keys - for a furnished property.
