House sale and imminent separation

So we have had a really good offer made on our house but unfortunately in the last few weeks DH and I have decided to separate.

We are likely to go into separate rental properties to simplify the sale process but am wondering what our obligations are to our buyer. Do we have to tell them what is going on or is it irrelevant if we are going into rentals.

I don't want to jeopardise the sale by doing the wrong thing but at this stage where we haven't even told DC as yet, is this something we have to disclose?

absolutely irrelevant
but you do need to tell your solicitor so he addresses correspondence to you each individually

No, as long as you are still committed to the sale, it is not necessary to tell the buyer.

Thank you, that's reassuring.

We are 100% committed to selling, both of wanted out of this house.

@steamedisbest do you mean the conveyancing solicitor?
