So early stages of divorcing.
Booking an appointment with a solicitor ASAP.
What are good questions to ask? What should I take with me to help: it will initially be an hour long.
Background.
Similar salary's - he can do overtime and does, I don't have the option
He's a shift worker I work normal hours

My pension will be a bit bigger because I've worked in NHS longer than he has. By about 4 years.

Neither can afford to buy other out so property to sell.

Money for this property came from a previous property I owned however he did go on the mortgage of that property about 18 months before we sold it. However has never made a lump sum payment in to property or added to deposit of current property.

2 children 6+4

Any questions you think would be useful or advice you could give would be amazing: keen to get things moving ASAP as this house is stifling living with him.

Thank you

Have the two of you agreed childcare agreements yet? Or discussed them?

If it's a free consultation don't bother asking questions, they won't answer them. Chances are you won't even see a solicitor, it will probably be a trainee or a paralegal and their answers will be the sort of vague responses you can find on Wikivorce. They'll normally also follow one of two approaches. Either the sky is falling in or you're going to get everything you want, please sign here.

If you're paying though then you should ask for a best and worst case in court and then the practicalities of house and pension splits.

No specifically it will be hard to have a set plan coz of his shifts and I think we will have to keep a degree of flexibility for this
