"Other financial commintmemts" and CMS

I get CMS through collect and pay £13 every 2 weeks for my son.
Just had letter to say they received no payment in March so I'm getting nothing.
My ex is on benefits and maintenance should be deducted from this, however when I called up they tell me he has Other financial commitments which take prescidence over child maintenance???

What would be more important than providing (albeit measly amount) to your kids?

It's infuriating as I see him go to work for hus cash in hand job and we're struggling.

Council tax arrears I think is one that would take priority. It sucks the system is awful. There would be a lot less children in poverty if they could get this right.

It's defo not council tax as he lives with parents and has no bills. Yes it's an awful system!!

If he’s been fined for something and they’re taking it from benefits it would take precedence over CMS - which is ridiculous imo
