Has anyone used an online divorce service

It seems so much cheaper than going with a local solicitor, but how easy is it and can you use it if you have some assets (eg property/pensions/inheritance) to divide? I'd be interested to know people's experiences.

I asked a similar question and didn't find anyone who had either. It seems like a good option but there must be a catch...

@BigBoysDontCry Thank you, I've just seen your reply! The lack of response on here seems to suggest maybe it is too good to be true. I'm in the process of getting quotes from local solicitors so maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet.

I did my divorce myself directly on the govt site. I then used an online solicitor the the financial order.so entire thing cost under £1k.

but we’d been separated 7 years and had already split the marital assets etc.

I also did a divorce myself. We just split everything in half.

Split everything amicably and then did paperwork online. Didn't need a financial order.

Only for the FO, because I needed a Mesher Order to protect me from CGT (I moved out), I used a firm via Wikivorce link: that firm was super super super slow. I had to repeatedly prompt them to do next steps & on top of all that, they sent me someone else's paperwork at one point.

We would have tried harder to do everything ourselves otherwise; we did almost all of it but I couldn't find a template for the FO & especially not with a Mesher Order paragraph in it.
