If Ex has your kids EOW what do you do for school holidays?

My ex will have our primary school aged kids EOW plus one week night every week. He has 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays off.
I'm self employed and take 6 weeks off per year.

I'm not sure how to manage the school holidays. What would be fair? How would it effect the CM payments? If he has to use holiday club they would have to stay with me anyway due to wrap around care. Who would pay for the holiday club? Ah... I'm struggling to know where to start with how to work it out.

I'm interested to hear how it works for you? So I have something to work off.

Thanks in advance

I have 25 days (5 weeks) holiday a year and split holidays 50-50 with my ex who is retired. I manage it on 25 days:
Summer - 3 weeks / 3 weeks with ex
Easter - 1 week / 1 weeks with ex
Christmas - office closedown - 2 days holiday for a week / 1 week with ex
Oct, Feb, May - 1.5 weeks / 1 week with ex.
So that's a bit more than 25 days, but I try to manage the extra days by working from home. My kids are just past primary school age now, so it's a bit easier.

My ex doesn’t have our children at all as he won’t but I would think half the holidays each would be good

We split the holidays 50/50. It’s the fairest way, we both work full time and I cannot take extra time off during holidays

@THEMOSTREAL so with 50/50 holiday split does that mean you have to work out the days he has them across the year rather than the week to work out CM payments?

Yea that’s what we did. I’m sure with CMS it asks for how many days over the year? Or if you tell them he has them alternate weekends then how many weeks holidays they work it out. My ex has the kids every other weekend then half all the school holidays

I’ve always done close to 50:50 holidays. We run holidays passed each other before booking and then we tend to just split the week based on my work schedule / holidays. Ex only works term time. In the summer I will have more weekends for example.

it doesn’t see very popular on netmums but we do frequent swap overs. (Kids say they like it) unless away somewhere.
