Can my ex claim on a pension started AFTER we split?

Hi all,

When my ex and I divorced, we didn't do a financial order as we had nothing to sort. No house etc.

12 months later, I started a job and I paid into a pension for the first time ever and now I'm wondering if he can make a claim on this year's down line?
I know pensions can be claimed on, but with this being my first ever pension and not even started before we split, I just wondered the rules.

Potentially, unless he has remarried - yes.
If you had a large lottery win or inheritance he could have a potential claim on that too (and likewise you could claim against his new financial status).
I would strongly suggest you formalise a clean financial break.
