I'll try to keep this short!
Looking for recommendations for a solicitor (or any advice) to sort 2 things. Must be able to do it all online/over the phone. Situation slightly unusual as we are Brits abroad, processing our divorce online. It is uncontested.
- A custody agreement that can just be signed off by the courts (ex and I agree but we want it rubber stamping; I intend to relocate and he is willing to sign that I have full custody so I can move freely, apply for visas etc and he trusts that I will still accommodate contact). I have taken advice on this and he understands that he could always apply to the courts in future to have any order changed, but the reality is I cannot easily relocate without an official court doc showing that I have full custody. I don't even know how we apply to court without being able to physically attend, although I know a lot of family court is now held online.
- Not sure what this is called, but we have a property in his name that we both pay the mortgage for. My mother lives in the property. I understand we can draw up an agreement that gives my mother the right to remain in the house until she chooses to leave or passes. After that, if/when we choose to sell the house, the proceeds would be shared 50/50. I've heard of this before when a homeowner wants to ensure a partner is able to remain in their home when the property owner dies, but the property itself would pass to the owner's children. Not sure I'm explaining this well!
Any tips or recommendations much appreciated.
