Rough Cost of Financial Consent Order

Ex Husband had the financial order document drawn up by his solicitor.

I signed it.

He is now asking for me to pay half his solicitor bill. Obviously I don’t want to pay half, because he will have benefitted from their legal advice, the solicitor will have dealt with all letters and querys etc (whereas I did it myself without solicitor due to lack of finances and frankly, it was a simple divorce that didn’t really require solicitor envolvement)

Please could I have a rough idea on how much a financial consent order will cost to draw up?

We had already decided on the finances and were in agreement from the very start. No disagreement or back and forth.

I think mine was around £750 around 5 years ago but i just paid it as wanted it done my end. If its all signed and sent off, id just say sorry that wasn't agreed and your ex will have to cover it. Imo its not unusual for one party to end up footing the bill here as one solicitor has to draw it up.

Despite my solicitor saying it would cost £350 mine ended up costing £1200 for a mutually agreed 50/50 split. A few extra emails and small amends quickly rack up

Mine cost £480
