Anyone else had an ex not return the children?

My ex has had the children for half term. They were me at to be returned last night 6pm

He 'thought it was today'.

Then refused to bring them back until 6pm tonight.

Has anyone experienced this and and what did you do?

I have sent all of the messages to my solicitor.

What was the exact wording of the agreement?

The repercussions are unlikely to be very much from a simple misunderstanding (e.g. if you had asked me when half term ended, I would have said today).

The agreement was Saturday 28th at 6pm which was suggested by him and confirmed in writing by his solicitor to mine.

Also in the shared calendar on the app we use.

Okay, diarise it but if the children are back with you at 6pm and it doesn't happen again I don't think there is much benefit in taking any action. Once can be a misunderstanding; a pattern of behaviour can be more telling.

He has a court order against him already so it's perhaps a bit more serious- he always acts out when he doesn't get his own way.

If there is a history already, that's a different matter. Are they home now?

EmmyLemmyHemmy · 29/10/2023 19:58

Hope they are home with you OP.

i would be furious and very worried- definitely speak to solicitor asap, and before next contact with father is due

Yes they are now back. Which is a huge relief. I had never thought he would use the children to be hurtful - everything else yes but not them.

That's good. It's difficult to know what happens next without a full history, but if this is the first time he's done anything like this with the children probably not much.

Probably not, the worst part is the anxiety it now adds to an already awful situation.

Thank you for your thoughts
