Child maintenance and school holidays

How does child maintenance work out what to do with school holidays?

At the moment we are planning for my ex to have them every other weekend and one night of the week. And he would pay for the breakfast club and after-school club for the week day that he has them.

But how do people split the school holidays? And how does that affect the child maintenance?

I'm not sure what I want or what's fair. So looking for how others do it if it works for you.

Calculate the no of nights average over a year inc holidays - so if that works out annually at say 2 nights a week based on eow plus one night per week plus half holidays use that figure. He then pays based on that each month
