Hi, name change just in case. I feel like I'm getting different advice from everyone so I've resorted to the internet. It's very messy and he's refusing to leave the house so without giving too much detail is it possible for him to get given half the child benefit and half the child element of Universal Credit if he has legal 50/50 custody ?? I think he's just trying to stop me getting money this month/force me to leave the house without the children etc but I can't stop the doubt that someone's given him right information and I'm wrong?! Please someone set me straight! 🙏🏼

No. But if you have 2 children you can claim for one each.

No, only 1 person can claim child benefit for an individual child. If you have more than 1 child then you can claim CB for a different child each. I very much doubt the UC can be split either.

Thank you! I don't know whether he's just trying to worry me then or he actually believes it now
