My STBEX is planning to stay in fanily home. Does anyone know what happens to the contents of the house. Is it usual that it's just split or will it all be left and included in the financial settlement?

I think I saw something when I was sorting my divorce last year about assets/content of homes - my solicitor asked if there was anything of value in the home over a certain value (there wasn't) if there was then it would need to be valued/value agreed on and then form part of the asset split in the financial settlement

Realistically if you are talking furniture, TVs etc they really aren't worth anything other than to you if you had to replace them for your new home

Also depends on who bought them. Best to say you need day £2k to furnish a new property to a similar standard and include that on the settlement

Anything over £500 is included in the assets but I didn't include anything. STBXH has already moved out and furnished his flat. I did offer him furniture but he wasn't interested and the offer is still there if he decides at some point to get a bigger place (kids are with me 100%). We don't have much that is worth over £500.
