Confused about financial agreement

Hello. Trying to sort out my head over divorce. One thing I'm unclear on is do we have to go to court to sort out the split of our finances? Or do we just have a solicitor draw up the agreement and this signed off by the court? What if the court rejects what we have agreed? Thank you!

You just fill in either a Form E or a D81 form - if you are amicable - and then a solicitor just does the paperwork and sends it to the judge.

From what I hear if the judge doesn't agree then he can call the parties to court to discuss the arrangements

@febrezeme Thanks so much. I'm hoping for amicable. Unfortunately husband has stopped communicating so I have to just wait and see.

Have you already put the divorce in online? My husband also refuses to communicate at all, he's been gone over a year but refuses to discuss the financial split at all. Because of this I'm reluctant to put the divorce in.
