Whoever they choose to live with, me or my ex will have to buy a house with the monies from our house sale then when our youngest reaches 18 that house will have to be sold.

Is this correct? As ive heard about it

Our kids are 10, 14 and 18

That is a mesher order. These are usually options of last resort because they place unreasonable restrictions on the other party’s ability to buy. A court would need to see evidence that you cannot afford to rent or buy a property.

You have only two dependents and they are both in school. Is there a reason why you cannot work and claim benefits?

@LemonTT thanks for that info.

Atm im working as self employed till 22nd May as it is just not worked out for me, I'm a childminder so ive gotta give notice to 1 parent. I am claiming for child benefit and wtc but very little as we are both earning as an estimate over £16k. I became self employed last April 2022.
