Can anyone tell me what happens at a FDA?

Got a date for our FDA in a few months.
I was surprised as I noticed it’s online.
Does my solicitor speak for me? Do I need evidence of lying about DH’s hidden money etc?
The hearing is 40 mins long. I thought it would be longer.
Dreading it, not sure why, as unless my DH gets 75% of our assets, which isn’t going to happen, he says he’ll see me at a final hearing which I really really don’t want.

Has your solicitor not advised you? Have you had your FDR already?

So sorry I misread your email. You don’t need any evidence for the first hearing. It’s just admin, the judge will decide which questions you should each respond to. That’s pretty much it.

Ah ok thanks. I meant FDR!
So do we answer the questions or do our solicitors do that?

Your solicitor should speak for you as your representative, unless the judge asks you a question directly.

It might not even last 40 minutes!

The judge will also likely try and encourage you both to agree without further input from the court.

Thank you. Glad I don’t have to do much speaking!
