Change of name but long standing poster

My lawyers asked his to not apply for final till finances agreed.
They did anyway and is final.
Can he now just never settle?
He has much more money than me so can outspend me.
Waiting for call back from lawyer but at work.

He can never "settle" but you can also push for the court to determine the matter.

The reason people are advised to not apply for decree absolute before a financial agreement in place are things like: if he dies before the agreement you are no longer his next of kin, some pension funds will only allow transfers between spouses, you can lose some tax advantages on transfers.

But courts can factor all the above in any order (so order more assets to be transferred because the pension transfer not an option).

Courts do not like parties who tie their hands and try and circumvent what is fair.

Sounds like you need to get on pushing this through the court process if he won't settle.

Mine came through before the settlement and it didn't cause any issues.
