Can anyone recommend a good solicitor to get my divorce sorted as it has been dragging on for over 2 years am (a) getting fed up of paying £250 an hour for very little progress/activity from my solicitor group, (b) it is really starting to effect my mental health and I am stuck in limbo living in the family home which I am waiting to sell (estate agents keep asking when will
I be ready to put it on the market) and (c) I am on to solicitor number 4 as they keep
leaving the group and I haven’t heard from this one for weeks and weeks (even though I emailed before Christmas to check on progress).
I am using a group of solicitors which I had used, initially, just for a quickie divorce (my initiation due to an unhappy/non existent marriage) but I had to bring in one of their financial solicitors as it was clear I was paying the bulk of the costs of the children. Eldest is now over 18 but youngest 14. I am paying for all the maintenance on the 4 bed detached home and paying for the drive and garden to be maintained (drive is shared with a neighbour and it’s a big block paved drive - neighbours have moved to a retirement village but they aren’t selling up the house as yet so I’m covering all costs). Stbx has inherited another property (ring-fenced), has cashed in £80k of pension so his looks less than mine, doesn’t pay CM (I haven’t claimed it as I’m living rent free in the family home) and is offering 50% of the family home even though I worked part time for 12 years.
I need a better solicitor and some action as it is really affecting me now. The group I am using are useless and I have already wasted thousands on them.
Please recommend a decent solicitor who I can pay monthly.
