What stage are you up to?

ClarathecrosseyedLioness · 23/12/2022 07:42

Well, first of all OP, you need to engage a solicitor who specialises in Family Law, and go from there.
The divorce laws have changed from when I got divorced as I believe you can now have a 'no fault' divorce. However, as I said, you need to get specilaist advice on this.

"Specialist" !

1- apply for divorce online - it's £693 - your husband will be emailed the link to accept as well although if he contests you have to have him served which more complicated

2 - get together all your paperwork- mortgage statement pension statement etc

3- either engage solicitors to do the financial order or fill in the D81 form yourself and just get solicitor to finalise it

4- if not amicable engage mediators

Where in the Uk are you?

for example Scotland and England don’t have exactly the same ways of dealing with things.

Hey after you apply for your final order for divorce how quick do you get your certificate

Bestcatmum · 05/01/2023 13:31

Not quick at the moment, I waiting 18 months, a friend waited 2 years.
