Can you still get divorced if one party won't engage?

That really. Can you get divorced when your ex (including sorting a financial settlement) will not engage in the process? Will it cost thousands??

Yes you can file for divorce online, you or your solicitor can write to them to get the financials sorted, if they don't engage a judge can still make an order. Start without a solicitor (filing is simple) to reduce costs and only engage a solicitor for the financials

I think the new divorce rules are meant to help with this

Yes you can. My ex wouldn't engage, wouldn't do mediation so I filed a court case and sent a bailiff to his house to deliver the summons. He engaged after that.

Definitely meant to help, my understanding is the divorce cannot be contested.
