Ex lies and making child lie deliberately

What should you do if your ex tells your kid to lie you that they have done something with their dad (go to after school activity) and when you check it turns out they didn't. I know my ex is a compulsive lier but my kid is honest so what should I do about this situation?

What Dad does on their time is up to them. Don't quiz your child and then they won't need to lie.

This isn't cool - it really isn't in a child's interests to encourage them to lie to a parent. Safeguarding rule number 1 - the only secrets are surprises e.g. birthdays.

Reassure your kid that they don’t need to lie, and that what they do during their time with dad is ok, so long as they’re ok with it.

I have similar issues with my ex and poor DD was tying herself in knots 😡…
