Xh dragging his feet on financial order

Just that really - I keep asking and he keeps making excuses not to do it. He was emotionally controlling and financially abusive, so this isn't new behaviour, he just stonewalls when he doesn't like something...but I want/need this done so that I can move on with my life.

Any suggestions as to what I might try..?

File court proceedings. That should focus his mind quite well.

that sounds like a plan @DancingWithYourDog , I'll talk to the solicitor to get that lined up and then give him a deadline after which I go straight to court...have been trying to play nicely (for all sorts of reasons) but I have had enough!

I wouldn’t even give him a deadline if you suspect he will just give you some piecemeal info then drag his heels again. Remember you can stop court proceedings at any time if he decides to play ball and you reach an agreement but if not there’s a set time frame he must obey. Good luck.

Get a MAIM cert from mediation, dont bother trying to mediate with someone who does not want to mediate (we did cost thousands). Once you have that submit the Form A to court. it will take a fair few months but running up to it you can still try to negotiate. You can do the form A and Form E yourself keep costs down. Usually about 250, once submitted the court will ring for payment then schedule a FDH. Whole process took about 14 months for my DP however day before the first court hearing his ex decided to settle. Court does tend to focus the mind. Good Luck
